Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then discovered many other vandalized cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any injuries in connection with the event," they stated.
City officials stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A high-ranking representative commented the vandalism made him without words and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
