Grid Details
Just 16 cars on the grid. It was another poor grid-setting session for the driver: after coming twentieth and final in the previous race, resulting in an eighth-place finish in the main race, he did not manage to make it out of Q1 once more on the previous day. The team have consequently made changes to his setup and so he begins from the starting area.
Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and the Alpine pair of Gasly and Colapinto are all starting from the same position.

Barring disaster, it's greatest value is as a preview of what is to come, instead of significant in its own right, with just eight championship points available to the victor. However, the runner-up spot here was sufficient for Verstappen to become champion two years ago.
